I’m back today with a spin-off of my most popular video, the twist sweater refashion. In today’s video I’ll show you how to recreate the twist front style using two men’s shirts. I’ll also be sharing how to sew and add roll-up button tabs to sleeves.
This time around, I wanted to recreate the knot-front using two tops instead. The two men’s dress shirts I used were from my stash that I’ve had since I did the men’s shirt refashion series. To see whether or not they would go well together, I tried them on side by side as seen in the video. Of course if you choose, you could use all one color.
This version of the twist aka knot front isn’t as dramatic as the one I did on the twist sweater but I found it to be really flattering. The shirting fabric is much thinner so it doesn’t add unwanted bulk to areas such as the waistline.
I ran into an issue halfway into the tutorial, due to the style I chose for the shirt dress. But thankfully I discovered an easy solution and was able to see it through. Take a look!
